The band will usually require access to the venue at least an hour prior to the proposed start of play for the purpose of setting up and performing a sound check. The band will supply their own P.A. equipment.
A designated dry area (non public thoroughfare) in which to perform is essential, with lighting adequate to read by and a mains electricity supply with standard 3 pin socket outlets.
If the band has requested a changing area, then this should preferably be a secure, private location close to the performance area. (Toilets are not ideal and if open to the public are not acceptable)
A short refreshment break will be taken at around halfway through the event if the programme lasts for more than a few hours.
When contacting Brenda or Robin with a booking enquiry it may be useful to have the following information to hand:
- The type of event you are interested in and the sort of performance required (e.g. Barn Dance/Ceilidh with English, Irish, Scottish and US mix of dance music and songs, or perhaps something with a predominantly Scottish Flavour... or even an evening of musical entertainment with no dancing....).
- The location and name of the intended venue (if known).
- The date and proposed start and finish times of the event.
- Any specific musical requests.
We will take your contact details, check availability and make any further arrangements necessary prior to confirmation.
Whilst it is possible to make a provisional booking without all of the necessary information, every effort should be made to furnish us with additional details such as timings etc. as soon as they become available.
Please note that a 'firm booking' is subject to mutual agreement and final confirmation from us.
Thank you for your interest in The Wyvern Dance Band.
